Barnes Dennig Intranet

Digital Workplace Implementation

Highlights

  • We leveraged a rapid discovery and initial deployment to provide a short investment to value cycle.
  • We are facilitating a shift away from sharing information via endless emails to posting on an intuitive and easily searched intranet.
  • We are nurturing a relationship as Barnes Dennig moves toward a truly Modern Workplace that supports employees as they’ve moved from in-office to remote and back again.

Background

Based in Cincinnati, Barnes Dennig has supported organizations with tax, accounting, and advisory services since 1965. Employees work remotely and in multiple office locations. With rapid growth on the horizon, the need for a unified and strategic approach for managing communication and data management is critical.

Barnes Dennig is invested in M365 and desired a new intranet to replace their old, static one. The new intranet needed to be intuitive and easy to use while maximizing the security, governance, and data management of the Microsoft ecosystem.

Approach

Through an intensive and focused discovery process and adopting a templated approach, StitchDX was able to build and deploy an intranet across the entire organization on an accelerated schedule, meeting Barnes Dennig’s need to launch before the busy tax season.

Following an efficient discovery process that capitalized on the core team’s existing knowledge and incorporated fresh ideas from service department members, the StitchDX team unveiled a blueprint for a “Minimally Lovable Product” (MLP) to expedite the launch their new intranet called “Catalyst”. After the initial deployment, we solicited user feedback and addressed organizational needs through iterative improvements.

Solution

StitchDX implemented a SharePoint-based intranet using Powell Software templates to create Catalyst — a unified, modern digital workplace tailored to Barnes Dennig’s needs. We led a focused discovery and deployment process, delivering key features like departmental sites, a centralized homepage, and an onboarding hub — all launched ahead of the firm’s busy tax season.

To enhance functionality, we integrated Powell FlexDesk for workspace reservations, improved Microsoft 365 search capabilities, and built custom content workflows to streamline internal processes. Post-launch, we provided in-depth training, ongoing support, and continuous enhancements aligned with Barnes Dennig’s long-term vision for a scalable, modern workplace.
